The first official race of the New Generation i20 R5 will be the Corsica WRC Rally on 29 September-2 October. Hyundai Motorsport driver Kevin Abbring and co-driver Seb Marshall continue to work on the development of the New Generation i20 R5 on this specific tarmac rally.
Besides Abbring, there will also be two privateer drivers taking the i20 R5 to the Corsican roads. Top driver Stephane Sarrazin and Italian junior Fabio Andolfi received their new machines, freshly fitted with Winmax Brake Pads, last week and will be the first two customers to race the new Hyundai.
Wim De Boeck, Winmax Europe : “Hyundai Motorsport has really been testing intensively and the collaboration is going very well. We are convinced that the Winmax Brake Pads we developed for the New Generation i20 R5 will have a significant added value for the competitiveness of the car.”
Meanwhile, Hyundai Motorsport have begun building the New Generation i20 R5 to meet the orders they have already received. At Winmax we are working to ensure we can supply pads for every car.
